Zeus needs emergency surgery

Today has been the greatest day for a few reasons and I’m so excited, overjoyed and a massive flood of relief knowing that the human that carried out this terrible attack HAS BEEN CAUGHT!!!!! Thanks to the great dedication and detective work by the Calgary Police Department this very dangerous criminal is off the streets and will be held accountable. We can not provide any more details at this point but Bruce wanted everyone who has been touched by this to have a sense of peace and relief.

On the Zeus front, he and I had a lovely moment this morning. First let me take you back to last night when he was a little grumpy for his last medication dose. It took me about 10 minutes to get him comfortable with me to get close to him to remove his water flush tube and replace the cap to his feeding tube. I felt so bad for him. It was then that I told him how very sorry for the past interactions with humans that have caused him this amount of pain and anxiety and told him how very much I want him to feel accepting of human compassion as easy as it is for my dog. I see the difference and it’s heartbreaking. I know Zeus has his ride or die with Bruce and a unbreakable bond with Glen which is awesome but how great would it be for Zeus to get that healing where he can trust deserving people of his love because what I am witnessing is such a loving, smart, protective little dog that has brought life and light to this sometimes dark world. Fast forward to this morning, he asked to go out, he ate well and let me pet him and wash his face today! I don’t know if it was what I said to him the night before but I am taking the morning win and very encouraged.
